WINTER DRIVING PRECAUTIONS

We have been fortunate to have had some snow at Blackhawk Ranch to help alleviate our drought conditions, and during the next few months, we will typically receive our heaviest snowfalls. However, even with snowplowing when the snow depth reaches 4”, several spots on the Ranch remain icy, due to melting and freezing in shaded areas of the roads. As a result, we have experienced several incidents lately where vehicles have slid off the roads. As there is no cell service in many of these areas, this becomes especially problematic.

All of this can sometimes make driving hazardous, not only for owners but construction workers and delivery vehicles as well, especially if drivers do not have 4-wheel or all-wheel drive and good snow tires. Timber Drive is especially steep and slippery and will be for most of the winter; Wapiti Drive is a good alternate route.

For the many of you who are new property owners and wish to visit your property, check the links for the Colorado Road Conditions and the Local Weather Conditions as well as the two Blackhawk Ranch Weather Stations that are all available on the Home Page of the POA website: www.blackhawkranch.org.
