Blackhawk Fire Mitigation

We have two timely fire mitigation announcements to make this week.

1) Saturday June 5 at 09:00 to 12:00 we will have our second BHR Community Fire Mitigation Workday on Wapiti Drive. As most of you know, this is part of our commitment to a Colorado Forest Service Matching Grant that the POA received.

2) After more than 4 years of discussion, research, and revision, the BHR EMC Committee and the POA Board jointly announce the initiation of a one-year pilot program for the rental of the POA Chipper by POA members who have completed the required education and hands-on training prior rental. During this one year pilot, this project will assess the feasibility of maintaining a sustainable chipper rental program across the ranch on a more permanent basis in the future. There are education and training requirements that must be met prior to being able to rent this equipment. The training requirements will involve supervised operation of the chipper during community fire mitigation work days.

If you are a POA member in good standing and have interest in making use of this program, please contact either Terry Bloomfield, POA Chipper Pilot Manager (308-991-8264), or Brad Brooks, Emergency Management Committee Chair (719-252-5621).
