All outdoor fires, including campfires are banned on Blackhawk Ranch until further notice. Las Animas County currently is in a Stage 2 Fire Restriction and Huerfano County is in a Stage 1 Fire Restriction due to an extremely dry winter, multiple red flag warnings and low humidity. As you may have heard, a car accident happened on the Ranch a couple days ago. The cause was poor lane management. One of our neighbors was injured and taken to the ER in Walsenburg. They are home now, but recovery time will be lengthy. Both vehicles were heavily damaged, one of which was destroyed by fire. Luckily, the fire did not spread very far from the car.
